This family includes LSD, DMT, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), and now 4-AcO-MET, 4-HO-MET and 4-AcO-DMT. What makes 4-AcO-MET so valuable of a find for research is that it is believed to be quickly hydrolyzed into 4-HO-MET. This makes it the perfect candidate for comparison studies that attempt to understand the chain of chemical reactions that happen after anlysis of this tryptamine. One other interesting factoid that should be mentioned is that 4-AcO-MET is believed to be an agonist of the 5-HT2A receptor, which means it's also a viable candidate for studies revolving around increases in serotonin production in test subjects. Keep in mind that comparison studies must have distinctly different control settings. If both chemicals are to be analysed together you want to maintain at least a 24 hour delay between trials.
